I've registered for a time trial....April 26. Never done one of these, but I like the idea of racing on my bike way better than running in a race. After a couple good days rest, I'm up on the trainer tonight then running Thurs, Saturday, and Sunday. Friday is a trail day on the bike working on speed....
just get it done.

One Tiny Victory
Ran a 2 mile race yesterday w/ the hubby. No big thing, just a kickoff. I was using it as a benchmark to see where I was at. He did it in 15 minutes flat. I did it in 19:30. Big deal for me...that pace is 1:30 faster than my pace last year in May. And it's only March...i was a little psyched. Strange I never believed that I could get better. I would just go run, not paying too much attention to my pace or my time. Always thinking "I'll never be faster, just focus on finishing".
Strange I never believed that i could do any better....

Bump in the Road
Battling what I thought was food poisoning, I think I may have actually had the flu. It's taken some time for me to get over it, and I'm feeling out of shape and run down. I can still do 3.1 w/out too much problem, but the treadmill is a terrible place for me to up my mileage....I just hate it too much, w/ or w/out an ipod. A good friend suggested a movie, but I don't think that will do it either. Running is just difficult for me, and if I have ANYTHING on my mind, it makes the run that much harder. Perhaps I need some visualization. The warm weather will help, b/c running outside is so much more enjoyable for me.
And of course, my bike...i can't wait to get it out on the road. New peddals and shoes make it even more exciting, but I'm just so in love w/ my bike...it's one of the best things I've ever owned.
I gotta get a swim in here somewhere? I so aspire to be a professional recreational athlete...i just wish I had the time.
I've slacked on my journal as well....so overwhelmed lately.
By the way, I've just lost too many people to cancer.
