This time of year

I'm not a particular fan of this time of year. It gets dark at 5:30 while I still usually have another 1/2 hours of work to go. It get cold. And I rarely get out on my bike when it's cool like this. Been running...on the dreadmill which I hate. so I ventured OUT tonight in the dark. I sorta like the dark, but I'm so afraid of being snagged by a car. Despite that....

here are the goals...

Nov. 21....Pigskin Classic 5K in downtown...then the OSU-Michigan game.
Nov.26.....Turkey Trot...
Dec. : Jingle Bell 5K...
May: Cleveland 10K....or half if I get my BUTT IN GEAR!!!!

The End of the Season

The end of the season was good. I haven't quite reached that goal of a complete Tri, but i'll get there. I finished my time trial in 35:15...which was good enough to put me first in my age group. It gives me a good goal to push for next year.

Been running ALOT, since the weather isn't cooperating for cycling. But I have managed to get a few good rides in. It looks like the road bike will be up on the trainer with the dark coming earlier now...

5k on Nov. 21...and another 1 miler on Nov. 8.

it's all good

Long Time

Long time since the last post...been busy training. Completed a road race in Meadville, PA. which was great. Finished 20 hilly miles in 1:17....just 2 minutes over my goal. Considering how difficult the ride was, I was happy.

3rd Time Trial is coming up on Sept. 20. Hoping to knock off more time. Looking for more possible road races before the season gets away....

I hate this time of year...except for Football!

So many races, so little time....

Ran for the first time in 10 weeks completely, 100% pain free. I was so happy...unfortunately, I had to push it because I didn't have a lot of time and I was tired from the 10 busy hours I worked during the day. All in all, i'm a happy girl, because this injury finally seems to be falling behind me. There have been so many races I've wanted to do, just can't find the right one at the right time. So many races, so little time....

Since the running has really been on hold, I've amassed HUGE miles on the bikes, which suits me fine, because it is what i really enjoy. I've since decided to do a couple of road races on the bike. In a huge way, I feel like I could accomplish some big things on the bike. If I only had gobs of time to train......this work thing really gets in the way of it....

Big Goals: half in May in Cleveland and something big on my bike.
it's all good...

Inspiration

My running buddy and great friend Tonya is competing in the NYC Triathlon next week. We spent some time together last night, talking about training and the race. It was the first time she and I, and the other 3 ladies we went to high school with, were in the same room all together in a long while!! It was just what I needed as we laughed ALOT about ALOT of really funny things that are going on in our lives right now.

GOOD LUCK TONYA....I know you'll do great!

training-wise: i'm out for a run in the morning and a long bike ride and swim tomorrow...

it's all good...

Le Tour de France

I never thought I'd enjoy watching cycling on TV. Sorta like guys sitting around watching golf, i guess. I've enjoyed it and it's another motivator to ride...i'm so silly.

GO Lance.....but the guys from Team Garmin-Slipstream are pretty good looking!

Long bike ride yesterday followed by a 2 mile run. The leg is a little sore...but it was much easier than before. May swim tomorrow. Training wise, i'm in a good spot. Just looking for that appropriate race.

SWIM!

Took the wetsuit out for it's "madien voyage" today. Harder than I thought, and a little scarey, but I did it. Swam about 300 yards and just worked on the stroke, and breathing. It was fun! Hoping to practice at least 3 times a week...

10 mile bike post swim....felt great.

I look like bat girl in my wetsuit!!!
