My Ride
I love my time trial bike. Went for a nice 21 miler today on the trail. And it felt great. My speed has increased and certainly can't wait for this next race on Father's Day. I could stay on that bike all day long....and then some. Out tomorrow for a long ride....on the road bike. Looking to do a century ride in late August...we'll see.

The Ashtabula Crank!
This past weekend I learned an interesting fact about my home town that I never knew, thanks to my great friend Dean Sabetta. As Dean looked over my time trial bike, he informed me that certain cranks made for bicycles were once made right here in Ashtabula! At the old True Temper plant, where my father worked when I was a little girl!!!! CRAZY! Called the Ashtabula Crank, they are still manufactured, all be it in China, but are still called the Ashtabula Crank! They are found on BMX and kid's bikes...
What a little piece of trivia! Go ahead, google it!!
On a training note, I ran the 5k this morning, without too much trouble from my calf....i actually felt good. I ran the race as a pacer for a friend of mine who is legally blind, so it was at much slower pace than I'm used to, but it was good for me! and her too, she medaled in her age division!!! Way to go Kathy!

Biking, Biking, Biking
My favorite of all...I just love to bike. I've spent all week on the bikes, both road and time trial, working on getting ready for the Rick Gorzynski time trial on Father's Day. I'd like to take some time off what I did back in April. Feeling good about the bike, all 125 miles this week....absolutely!
the run......well, after the 10K I've just had some calf pain that won't go away. I've taken my own advice and I've iced, stretched and massaged...staying away from the run all week. Tomorrow I'm running a local 5K. So we'll see how getting back into the run goes.
Now I have to start swimming.......the swim.....any advice out there from all of you swimmers???

Cleveland Marathon, Half, 10K
Ran the Cleveland 10K yesterday...what a blast. I don't know if it was the adrenaline or all the runners I was surrounded by, but I felt great and ran great. That's the way to do a race. Ran "with" (she's a little faster than me! haha) my good friend Tonya, who did a great job herself. We started at the line together, and it was great to see her at the finish!
Half marathon next year? I have 364 days to think about and train for it....
right now, i'm nursing my calf/shin. GO AWAY PAIN!
Rick Gorzynski Time Trial is next....
